Would You Pay For A Date If You Couldn't Get One Any Other Way?
Would You Pay For A Date If You Couldn't Get One Any Other Way?

The Age Old Question. Are We All PayingFor It Just Different Ways?

Man Oh Man! All I can do is laugh but here goes. One Day I was on the treadmill watching Anderson Coopers show and the feature was about this online dating site called What's Your Price.com. As I was running I had to slow the treadmill down and walk so I could really absorb this information, plus I was chuckling and that makes it kind of hard to run.

This site was created by Brandon Wade, a self-proclaimed geek, to introduce people to one another. He says it was for people who lacked the social skills and could not get a date any other way. Hmmmm? The difference is you say how much you will pay to go on a date with someone.

You can be a generous person which is the person that pays and be male or female. Generally, it is the man paying. Or an attractive person, Male or female. For the most part the attractive people are women and some men. In my opinion this is an escort service. Because you are paying for someone to go out with you. The people on the show tried to justify why it wasn't an escort service or why it wasn't prostitution. As I watched the show It became clear that it was jsut an escort service pretending to be a dating website.

I went home and joined What's Your Price.com and this is what I found.

  1. You join the dating site like any other. You fill out the profile. You tell about yourself: Age, income, build, eyes, hair and all that jazz. Then you describe the perfect date and then what you are looking for relationship wise which is friendship, marriage, friend with benefits, discreet encounter, you name it.
  2. Then you set your price. How much you will pay for a date. Also you can offer someone how much you will pay to take them out.
  3. Profile wise I looked at women since I am a straight male. A lot of the women said they were looking for guys with money. Some women said they were looking for nice relationships but had somewhat sexy pictures in suggestive positions, Hmmm...I wonder what they really want? I didn't look at men because well.. I don't like men.
  4. If you want to contact these women or men you have to pay a monthly membeship fee of 30 bucks for the first month then the price goes up.
  5. I signed up for the site as an attractive male looking for someone to pay me to go out. Now I know I have a few miles on me but I ain't that bad looking...am I? Oh well. So I will keep you posted as to what happens if I get any offers. I will reject them of course because I do have a lovely girlfriend with a sweet little boy.

Online Dating: My Experiences. In my own experiences with online dating I was always looking for a nice person, decent person that I found attractive. Because I run a company and stay busy it is hard for me to get out alot of the time I am too tired. When looking online someones financial status never mattered to me. However, it is obvious that it is more and more a factor in the world we live in. Who paid for what never crossed my mind and I never, ever expected anything in return. If sparks flied ( I am only human!) fine if not that was cool too. My mother didn't raise me to be like that and it certainly wasn't a way God would want me to act. One or two of my dates were bad but most of them developed into nice relationships. My current relationship has been for 7 years and we met online. I met a decent person that has made me into a better Christian; in the end I think we would all be better off if we tried to look for that in each other. What do you think?
