Do You Need A weight Loss Calorie Calculator?

As I have stated in one of my other Hubs weight loss is a numbers game. It is very simple really. Burn more calories than you take in. Your Calories burned will result in weight loss. First you need to know how many calories ( a unit of energy) your body needs each day. There is a formula for men and women. I have included a video in this Hub at the bottom to show you the formula. Once you figure out how many calories your body needs each day then you will now how many to burn to lose your desired weight. Using myself as an example, I weigh 220 normally. After the holdays I put on about 5 lbs. If I want to lose this 5 lbs I need to burn off 17,500 calories. This seems like a big number but really it isn't. So I will cut 500 calories out of my diet and make sure I burn off 500 at the gym. That gives me a calorie deficit of a 1000 calories a day. That is 7000 calories burned in 1 week or two pounds lost. There is 3500 calories in a pound of fat. So it will take me 2.5 weeks to lose the weight.

A couple things here. I am an experienced trainer and I know my body. Not everyone knows how to do this or what to do. So calorie calculators help you figure it out what you need to do in terms of calorie deficit creation. Make sure you consult your Dr. first before you try any exercise regiment. Safety first.

X-Max Caltrac Calorie Counter

I like this counter the most. The X-treme will calculate calories burned based on your age, weight, and sex. This is why I like it so much because it calculates how many calories you burned. Doing the calculation by hand can be a little hard and then laziness sets in the individual. Then they start guessing at calorie usage. This device will count how many calories you burn doing whatever activity you choose and at the end of the day you get a total readout. Using myself again it may show I burned 4000 calories and only ate 3000. It WILL help you stay on track. I like this one as No.1 because I pretty much know how to eat but I want to know what my bodyu is doing. This gives me a litle insight. However, you may feel different.
